Cielo Blu, founded by Kayla DiLullo and her father Mark DiLullo, is a Tecnam Factory Authorized Aircraft Dealership, brokerage and acquisition company located at the Chino Airport in California. It leases hangar space from Threshold Aviation Group. Since its inception in 2022, Cielo Blu has experienced significant growth, achieved milestones and celebrated numerous successes in the aviation industry.

SUN ‘n FUN 2024

In 2022, Kayla obtained a Business Law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and immediately thereafter she formed Cielo Blu. Since then, Kayla says she has experienced many exciting aviation “firsts,'' like attending key aviation events such as EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, NBAA, and Sun ‘n Fun. “We’ve tackled the challenges that any startup would expect to face in the past year and we’ve had fun and success while doing it. We’ve attended many air shows and expos, been featured in magazines and news articles, participated in aerial photography missions and met many amazing people,” said Kayla. The company will attend Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo in Florida with Tecnam Aircraft for it’s third year. Sun ‘n Fun holds a special place in the company’s history as it was where Cielo Blu was born in 2022 when the DiLullos decided to join the Tecnam family. “At Sun ‘n Fun in 2022, we met with Tecnam and immediately identified synergies and became one family in aviation and we formed the dealership the next day,” said Mark. Tecnam, a renowned aircraft manufacturer, will be showcasing many of their fleet at Sun ‘n Fun, including their newest model, the P-Mentor. The P-Mentor is Tecnam’s newest 2-seater IFR training platform. The aircraft is a game-changer because it allows the student to meet all training requirements from Private through Instrument through Commercial Pilot License in a modern and efficient platform.

WHAT’S NEW WITH CIELO BLU

Tecnam P2010 Gran Lusso interior.

Eleven Tecnam Aircraft have been delivered on the West coast to flight schools and private owners. These include Light Sport Aircraft and Certified Single and Twin engine aircraft. “The most popular aircraft sold from our inventory is the P2010 Gran Lusso, which accounts for five of the sales we have made to date,” said Kayla. The Gran Lusso is a Certified Single Engine, 4-seater aircraft, conveniently equipped with a third passenger door. The Gran Lusso’s Jet-A piston engine makes it noteworthy, but its interior, lined entirely with Italian leather, makes it unforgettable. Recently, Cielo Blu posted an Instagram reel (@cieloblu.aero) of this interior and it attracted the attention of more than million viewers.

Kayla’s sales abilities do not end with company-owned inventory. She created a robust brokerage operation and has facilitated the acquisition of more than 20 aircraft and successfully closed deals for high-profile people with aircraft such as Gulfstreams, an Aero L-39 Albatros, and a Beechcraft A36 Bonanza. Currently, she is preparing to market a Shorts Brothers/ Embraer Tucano and a CJ2.

AN ADDED SURPRISE

Kayla's journey into the aviation industry started with a clear focus on business development and sales. Initially, her goal was to excel in these areas to support the growth of her company. However, as she delved deeper into the industry, she discovered an unexpected passion for flying airplanes.

Driven by the realization that her role as a saleswoman would be enhanced by firsthand knowledge of aviation, Kayla made the decision to learn how to fly. This decision wasn't just a practical one; it was fueled by a genuine love and fascination for the experience of piloting aircraft.

As Kayla honed her skills in both business and aviation, she found herself increasingly drawn to the thrill of flying. What began as a necessity for her job soon transformed into a deeply rooted passion. With each flight, Kayla discovered a new level of fulfillment and excitement, further solidifying her decision to become a pilot.

Now, as she navigates her dual roles as a businesswoman and a pilot, Kayla finds joy in the synergy between her two passions. Her journey has not only expanded her skill set but has also enriched her life in ways she never anticipated. In embracing the unexpected, Kayla has found her true calling in the skies.
